All the maize in the world,
Lies on these breaking backs,
Mayan civilization unfurled,
Warm skins under contract.

Hark work and tradition,
Rakes and racks faithfully on souls,
Respect for everyone, even todos los muertos.

Whipped by Spanish mission,
Beauty survived indigen cull,
Love for family, especially los hijos.
